SO/Check examination - analysis of light reflected from tissues at Centrum Zdrowia Biomed Gdansk

Brief answer

SO/Check - what is it?

SO/Check is an analysis using VIS-NIR tissue spectrophotometry technology (Visible and Near Infrared Spectrophotometry). The examination involves analysing light reflected from tissues, which allows assessing selected functional body parameters related to biological processes occurring in tissues.

At Centrum Zdrowia Biomed, we use the SO/Check examination as part of a broader body assessment, also considering health interview, lifestyle and other available test results.

/Method

What does SO/Check involve?

VIS-NIR technology uses the properties of visible light and near infrared to analyse spectral patterns present in tissues. The examination is non-invasive and does not require biological sample collection.

VIS

Visible light

The visible range carries information about the surface optical properties of tissues.

NIR

Near infrared

Near infrared penetrates deeper, providing data about processes occurring in tissues.

/Process

How does the examination proceed?

The examination is performed using a device that analyses light reflected from tissues. After the analysis is completed, the patient receives a report containing an assessment of selected functional body parameters.

Painless

The analysis does not cause discomfort.

Non-invasive

No intervention in the body and no sample collection.

Short

The analysis itself usually takes a few minutes.

No preparation

In most cases, no special preparation is required.

/01 Motivations

When to consider an analysis?

The examination may interest people who want to obtain additional information about body function in the context of daily lifestyle and regeneration. The analysis is often performed by people:

  • physically active,
  • caring about health prevention,
  • interested in body regeneration assessment,
  • wanting to monitor the impact of lifestyle changes,
  • analysing laboratory test results in a broader functional context.

/02 Indications

Who is the examination for?

The examination can be performed by adults interested in health prevention and monitoring body function. It can be part of a broader body assessment for people:

  • physically active,
  • exposed to chronic stress,
  • interested in body regeneration,
  • monitoring the effects of lifestyle changes,
  • wanting to obtain additional information about body function.

/Interpretation

How to interpret the results?

SO/Check results are functional and educational in nature. They do not serve to diagnose diseases or make medical diagnoses. However, they can be an additional source of information used during a broader analysis of body function.

Interpretation should take into account, among others:

  • symptoms reported by the patient,
  • laboratory test results,
  • health interview,
  • lifestyle,
  • physical activity,
  • body regeneration.

/Context

SO/Check and laboratory tests

SO/Check analysis does not replace laboratory tests or medical consultation. However, it can complement information obtained from other sources and support the assessment of functional dependencies occurring in the body.

In practice, results are often analysed in parallel with:

  • blood morphology,
  • biochemical tests,
  • lifestyle assessment,
  • health interview.
